Policies & Code of Conduct

It is our highest priority to make Dream Studio a safe space for dance education for everyone. Our policies and Code of Conduct were created to make this possible. We as all parents, guardians, and students to familiarize yourselves wiht our philosophy and policies at Dream Studio.

General Studio and Class Etiquette:

  • Students are expected to be respectful to all teachers, studio staff, and students at Dream Studio. Disrupting class and talking back to the dance teacher will not be tolerated. If a student is disrespectful or disruptive the student will receive a warning from the teacher. Should this behavior continue, the student will be told to leave the class and sit in the Studio Office with Patty until they are willing to change their behavior. If the student’s behavior continues to interfere with dance instruction, the student’s parents will be contacted to discuss the situation. Ultimately, this behavior may result in the student being removed from the class permanently.
  • We have a zero tolerance policy for bullying & harassment at Dream Studio. If any teachers or staff witness or receive a complaint about bullying, action will be taken immediately.
  • Cell phone use is strictly prohibited in/during all dance classes. Students may not leave the classroom to check their cell phones, email, or any other form of social media. Students may call their parents from the studio before or after their classes. In the case of an emergency, students may always go to the office and ask to call their parents/guardian.
  • Students must be picked up no later than 10 minutes after class has ended. Parents & students should leave the studio and waiting area within 10 minutes of their class ending. This is to ensure we make space in both the waiting area and limited parking so students in the next classes can safely make it to class on time.
  • The reception area is available to parents while your student is taking class. However, all young children in the waiting area must be under the supervision of a responsible adult. There is no running or rough play in the waiting area.
  • Children are not permitted to play in the parking area.
  • There are absolutely no street shoes, food, or drink (other than water) allowed in the dance space of the studio.
  • Dress Code including hair must be followed. This is to ensure a safe classroom environment and specifically prevent injury to the eyes when turning.
  • No nuts or nut products are allowed at Dream Studio.
  • No Pets are allowed at Dream Studio.
  • Parents with questions for any teacher should speak to the Office Manager to make an appointment to meet with the teacher when they are not instructing a class. Please do not approach the teachers with questions between their classes.

Punctuality

  • Students must arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the beginning of class.
  • Students will be given a warning after their first tardy. After the second tardy, a parent or guardian will be contacted by the instructor to inquire about the reason for lateness. If tardiness becomes a chronic problem, the student may be asked to sit out of the class.
